Pet Massage

Pet Massage

Pet massage is a growing industry in the United States because it gives so many benefits to your animals. Just like with humans, dogs can gain all of the same perks from a good massage. In Louisiana, pet massage can only be given if it is prescribed by a veterinarian and administered while a veterinarian is on the premise.

This service is considered a veterinary medicine and the International Association of Animal Massage & Bodywork states; Current veterinary laws of practice [in Louisiana]:  “Practice of veterinary medicine” means: to diagnose, treat, correct, change, relieve, or prevent animal disease, deformity, defect, injury, or other physical or mental conditions; including the prescription or administration of any drug, medicine, biologic apparatus, application, anesthetic, or other therapeutic or diagnostic substance or technique, and the use of any manual or mechanical procedure for testing pregnancy or for correcting sterility, or infertility, or to render advice recommendation with regard to any of the above.””

This means that you should not take your pet to someone for a massage, unless they are a veterinarian or there is a veterinarian on premise.

Being certified in Pet Massage, landMARK animals understands how to use proper massage techniques on your pets to learn what they like and need.
